Grilled Romaine with Cherries X2

I harvested my first summer crop of romaine lettuce yesterday and it was divine!  You know what made it even better?  I served it with cherries on top and Buttermilk Ranch Dressing!


  • 2 heads romaine lettuce, halved
  • 2 cups pitted fresh cherries
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 - 1 cup buttermilk ranch dressing
  • avocado for garnish


Step 1

Drizzle lettuce with a few drops of olive oil and grill for about 5 minutes over medium heat. The edges of lettuce will with an there will be visible char marks. Simultaneously roast cherries in a bed of foil on grill for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Reserve grilled romaine on the side.

Step 3

Plate romaine and top with roasted cherries, cherry tomatoes and avocado. Drizzle with Buttermilk Ranch Dressing and serve.
